The Du‘a Collection is a library of everyday du‘as, arranged in categories: each du‘a with its Arabic, its pronunciation and meaning in Bengali and English, and its source. Du‘as from the Quran are taken straight from the Quran text in your database, so their wording is always the Quran's own.

It is a free plugin and comes with Quran CMS, already filled with 51 du‘as in 11 categories.

Who it is for

Every Islamic website. The du‘as for morning and evening, sleep, food, travel and distress are among the pages people look for every day — and come back to.

Switching it on

Admin → Plugins, turn Du‘a Collection on. The first time it is switched on it creates its two tables (qc_dua_categories, qc_duas) and fills them. The pages are at /duas and /duas/<category>; the collection is listed on the Islamic tools page (/tools) as Daily du‘as. The plugin adds Du‘as to the admin menu under Plugins, with a second tab, Du‘a categories.

Every Arabic du‘a carries the hadith it comes from, such as Bukhari 6306 — whoever says it with certainty in the day …. The Arabic of each was compared word by word with the hadith at the number it cites (see the notes of version 1.5.0); the Quranic ones come from the Quran itself.

What the visitor sees

  • /duas — Daily du‘as: a search box (Search du‘as — e.g. sleep, travel, forgiveness) and a card for every category with its icon and the number of du‘as in it. A search looks through the titles, meanings and pronunciations in both languages.
  • /duas/morning-evening and the other categories — every du‘a of that category as a card: the title, the Arabic in large Quranic type, the pronunciation, the meaning and the source, with Copy and Share buttons. The list of categories stays beside it on a computer.
  • On Bengali pages the pronunciation and meaning are Bengali and the source shows the reference only (বুখারী ৬৩০৬); on English pages it carries the short note as well.

Every category page has its own title and description for search engines, and the plugin adds all of them to your sitemap.

Editing the du‘as

Admin → Du‘as lists every du‘a, with a tab for each category and its count. In one category you can drag the du‘as into the order you want. Each row can be switched off (hidden from the site), edited or deleted.

Add a du‘a opens a form:

Categories

Admin → Du‘as → Du‘a categories: drag the categories into order, Edit or delete one (a category with du‘as in it must be emptied first), or Add a category with Name (English), Name (বাংলা), Address (made from the name when left empty) and an Icon (hands, sunrise, moon, heart, home, mosque, compass, shield, Quran, people, book, star, Kaaba …).

On the home page

The plugin adds the section type Du‘a of the day (Du‘a Collection plugin) to Appearance → Home page: one du‘a, a different one every day, with a link to All du‘as.

Settings

Admin → Plugins → Du‘a Collection → Settings has Page address (duas by default).

Tips

  • When you add a du‘a, always fill in Source. Readers trust a du‘a they can look up.
  • Put a link to the Sleep & waking category in your post about the sunnah before sleep, or to Travel before the holidays — category addresses are short and stable.
  • The search also finds Bengali words, so a visitor can type ঘুম and find the sleeping du‘as.
