Digital Tasbih
Digital Tasbih is a counter for dhikr: a large round button to tap, the common adhkar with their Arabic, pronunciation and meaning, targets of 33, 99, 100 or 1,000 (or your own, or none), vibration, a soft click, and a record of what was counted today.
It is a free plugin and comes with Quran CMS.
Who it is for
Anyone who keeps a daily wird, counts the tasbih after salah, or wants a hundred istighfar without losing count. On a phone it feels like a hand counter: tap anywhere on the big button, and the phone vibrates once at every target.
Switching it on
Admin → Plugins, turn Digital Tasbih on. The page is at /tasbih and is listed on the Islamic tools page (/tools) as Digital tasbih.
What the visitor sees
Choose a dhikr
The list on the right (below the counter on a phone) holds ten adhkar, each with its Arabic and a short source where there is one:
| Dhikr | Starting target |
|---|---|
| Subhanallah | 33 |
| Alhamdulillah | 33 |
| Allahu akbar | 34 |
| La ilaha illallah — the best remembrance (Tirmidhi 3383) | 100 |
| Astaghfirullah — the Prophet ﷺ sought forgiveness a hundred times a day (Muslim 2702) | 100 |
| Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi (Bukhari 6405) | 100 |
| Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, subhanallahil-‘azim (Bukhari 6406) | 100 |
| La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (Bukhari 6384) | 100 |
| Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad (Muslim 408) | 100 |
| La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah … (Bukhari 3293) | 100 |
Choosing one shows its Arabic, the pronunciation and the meaning above the counter (in Bengali or English, following the site language) and starts a fresh count with its own target.
The counter
- Tap the big button — or press the space bar on a computer — to count. A ring around the number fills up towards the target.
- At the target the phone vibrates twice, the button glows and a short message says Target reached — may Allah accept it; the count carries on and the rounds completed are shown under the number.
- The targets 33, 99, 100, 1000, Own (any number) and ∞ (no target) can be chosen at any time.
- The small buttons under the counter are Undo (one step back), Reset, Vibration on/off and Sound on/off.
Today
A small history lists each dhikr counted today with its total, and the total of the day. It starts again the next day.
Everything — the chosen dhikr, the count, the target, the switches and today's history — is kept on the visitor's own device (in the browser). Nothing is sent to your server and no account is needed, so the counter works the same for a guest as for a member, and keeps its place if the page is closed and opened again.
Settings
Admin → Plugins → Digital Tasbih → Settings has one setting:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Page address | tasbih by default. Change it and the page moves to the new address. |
The list of adhkar is part of the plugin, with checked references; it is not edited from the admin panel.
Tips
- Add the page to a menu under Appearance → Header & menus — for example in a Tools group next to the du‘as.
- Visitors who add your site to their phone's home screen get, in effect, a tasbih app with your name on it.
- Vibration works on Android phones; iPhones do not let web pages vibrate, so there the glow and the message mark the target.
