The problems that come up most often, where to look, and what to do.
First: Admin → System status
This page lists everything the script asks of the server with Good, Look or Fix beside it: the PHP version (8.1 or newer is what it calls good), each extension, the upload limits, proc_open(), FFmpeg, the folders that must be writable, config.php, whether install.php is still there, and HTTPS. Below it are the free disk space and Plugin faults caught: when a plugin's part of a page fails, the page is shown without it and the fault is listed here. Show this page to your host when you ask them to change something.
To see PHP's own error messages on screen while you chase a problem, set define('AIO_DEBUG', true); in config.php. Set it back to false afterwards.
A white page, or "500 Internal Server Error"
- PHP too old or an extension missing: compare with System status, then change it in cPanel → Select PHP Version.
- A plugin is at fault: switch it off at Admin → Plugins. If the panel will not open, rename that plugin's
plugin.phpby FTP (for exampleplugins/bandwidth/plugin.phptoplugin.php.off); the site then skips the plugin. - A half-finished update: upload the update's files once more, then open
/db_update.php.
Every page but the home page says "not found"
Clean addresses need URL rewriting. On Apache or LiteSpeed the .htaccess from the package must be in the site's folder (file managers hide names starting with a dot). On nginx add this to the site's configuration:
location / {
try_files $uri $uri/ $uri.php?$args /link.php?$args;
}
Where nothing can be done, switch off Settings → General → Clean addresses. The panel itself always opens at /admin/.
Old PlayTube-style links answering "not found" mean an older .htaccess: upload the one from the package, or open /db_update.php once more, which adds the rule.
The licence will not activate or check
The message This server has no CA certificate bundle, so it cannot verify the License Center's certificate means the host's PHP cannot check any secure certificate. Ask the host to set curl.cainfo in php.ini. Until they do, you may put this in config.php:
define('AIO_LICENSE_INSECURE_SSL', true);
Set it back to false once the host has fixed it. This is a premium plugin. Your license does not include it (or a yellow Needs license) on Admin → Plugins means a premium plugin is not on your licence yet: buy it on license.faruk.bd, press Check again now on Admin → License, then switch it on. More in The licence key.
Cron is not running
Admin → Cron jobs shows the state at the top. Press Test this line: it runs the line exactly as cron would and shows the answer. A working line answers with AIO-CRON-OK.
- On most cPanel servers a plain
phpis the CGI build; the script works with it. - If the line cannot find php, type it under Settings → Path to php on the same page (on cPanel it looks like
/usr/local/bin/ea-php82), or use the curl line under fetch the address instead. - Wrong key. from the web address means its key is old: Make a new key changes it, so copy the address again.
Meanwhile Keep the jobs going when cron is not arriving lets visitors' pages run what is due. See Scheduled jobs.
Videos stay in one size, or have no thumbnail
On Admin → Media & FFmpeg:
- Could not run ffmpeg: type the full paths under Path to ffmpeg and Path to ffprobe (often
/usr/bin/ffmpegand/usr/bin/ffprobe). - This server does not let PHP start another program: the host has switched off
proc_open,execandshell_exec. Ask them to allow one, or upload MP4 files. - Convert uploads automatically must be ticked.
See Conversion.
Members cannot upload
The upload page says why:
- Your role on this site does not allow uploading: give the role the right Upload videos (Users → Roles).
- Please confirm your e-mail address before uploading: the member must open the confirmation link, or mark the address confirmed on Users.
- Uploads are closed: switch Uploads open on under Settings → Content.
Size limits come from Largest upload (MB) (Settings → Content) and the member's package (Largest upload (MB), Uploads a day). PHP's upload_max_filesize matters little, because files go up in pieces. Pieces stay below Cloudflare's 100 MB limit, and when a server (nginx, Cloudflare) answers that a piece is too large, the uploader halves it and carries on by itself.
The disk is full
System status and the admin bell say so. Conversion waits by itself (waiting for room on the disk) while less than Keep free on the disk (MB) (Media & FFmpeg) is free. Free some room, ask the host for more, or move files to an FTP file server.
The site slows down when many people watch
With the download guard on, PHP sends every video and one PHP process stays busy per viewer. On Settings → Speed & security → Who sends the video files press Find out and switch on: LiteSpeed, Apache or nginx then send the files. If videos stop playing after a change of hosting, press Switch off.
Behind Cloudflare
- Visitors' real addresses and HTTPS are read from Cloudflare's headers automatically. Another proxy in front? List it under Other proxies to believe.
- Always use HTTPS only switches on while you use the panel over
https://, so it cannot lock you out. - Do not let Cloudflare cache the video files: its Free, Pro and Business terms do not allow serving video that way. See Bandwidth Monitor.
E-mails do not arrive
- Settings → E-mail: choose SMTP, with a mailbox on your own domain as From address.
- Send a test: the answer says whether the server took it.
- Check the template is not switched off (Send this message).
Download managers still take videos
Switch on Guard the video files and The strict look (Settings → Downloads). A video that plays in a browser can still be recorded from the screen; the guard stops the easy ways.
I cannot get in
- The site is closed for maintenance: signing in still works at
/login. Switch it off under Settings → Content. - Forgotten password: Forgot password? under the password box on the sign-in page e-mails a link to set a new one (it works for an hour, once). The e-mail settings must work for that (Settings → E-mail). An administrator can also set a member's password, or send the link, from Admin → Users → Actions.
Moving to another domain
- Release this domain on Admin → License.
- Change
SITE_URLinconfig.phpto the new address. - Activate the key again, then clear the cache (the broom at the top of the panel).
- List the old domain under Settings → SEO & sitemap → The site's old domain(s).
